the long view

My Dad lived in North Dakota for decades. I remember driving around the state with him and his glee over being able to see a stand of trees that he knew was 60 miles away. The horizon line in the Dakotas is ever-present.

We now have a view of Puget Sound and a huge slice of sky. We sit high up on a hill that expands that view. I love having that expansive view of the water and sky. When I am not obsessing on fields, the horizon line will call. A few years ago, I did 30 little stitch pieces on the horizon line that were 4” x 4” like the one at the heading to this blog.

Here's another done on paper with acrylics, stitch, and beads.
